On Thursday, June 12, Neighbors Emergency Center helped out with Brighter Bites program. Through Brighter Bites, underprivileged Houston schoolchildren and their families receive fresh fruits and vegetables courtesy of the Houston Food Bank. Both the children and their parents learn about nutrition through educational programs conducted by the UT School of Public Health so that they can make the most of the food they receive. It’s a great way to get healthy food to families that normally would not be able to get it. Learn more about Brighter Bites here:
