Taking Care of Your Heart Is Not So Hard

No matter what your age is, taking steps to improve your heart’s health is important at any stage of your life, and it’s not as complicated as you might think. Below are 3 really easy ways to start taking care of your heart:

  • Eat a lot more sushi

Or any other dish that contains fish or seafood such as oysters. These foods contain omega-3’s, which help lower blood pressure, strengthen your cardiovascular system, and make your heart work more efficiently.

  • Watch a funny movie or show

Research shows that just the expectation of watching a funny movie or show can decrease up to 70 percent in stress-hormone levels.

  • Exercise…or just think about it

A study has shown that just thinking about exercising for 15 minutes a day can actually strengthen your muscles by as much as 15 percent. This helps your heart because when your muscles are strong, your heart rate and blood pressure are less likely to rise. This, however, is not to say that just thinking about exercising is enough…you should definitely get out there and get your sweat on from time to time.
