Scream for Homemade Ice Cream

You scream, I scream, we all scream for ice cream! Cool down this summer with some homemade ice cream. You can make tons of these delicious flavors at home with your ice cream maker. From a rich peach flavor, to a refreshing hint of mint, you can incorporate almost anything to create a custom ice cream.

Butter Pecan Ice Cream

Start by preparing the ice cream and whisking together milk, brown sugar, egg yolks and salt. Heat on medium until it simmers, whisking until it begins to thicken. Next mix in half and half cream and vanilla.

Chill and refrigerate for at least two hours. Next prepare your candied butter pecans. Over medium heat combine pecans, sugar, and butter, stirring for two minutes. Remove and place them on foil breaking the nuts into bite sized pieces once they have cooled. Finally pour the ice cream mixture into your maker. Stir in your pecans once it is made.

Raspberry Cheesecake Ice Cream

Begin by whisking together cream cheese until it is smooth. Then add your sugar, and whisk until it is fully incorporated. Next you will add your pureed and strained raspberries. Finish the mixture by whisking in cream and milk. Finally, pour the mixture into your ice-cream maker. This creamy combo of flavors will have you reaching for a second bowl.

Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream

Whisk together milk, sugar, egg yolks and salt. Heat on medium until it simmers, whisking until it begins to thicken. Strain the mixture and then add in half and half cream and 1 teaspoon of peppermint extract.

Finally pour the ice cream mixture into your maker. Once the ice cream has been made, stir in 1 cup of semi sweet chocolates.

Peach Ice Cream

As the standard ice cream recipe calls for, whisk together milk, sugar, egg yolks and salt. Heat on medium until it simmers, whisking until it begins to thicken. Strain the mixture and then add in half and half cream. Next whisk in two cups of fresh peaches. Although you can use canned peaches, fresh peaches will have a better taste, and smoother texture when you are eating your final product. Chill for at least 2 hours, and then process the mixture in your ice cream maker.
