Cancer strikes at all ages, but people are more likely to develop cancer as they grow older, even if signs of cancer have never been detected before. The good news is that cancer treatment is successfully curing patients every day and death rates have dropped significantly in the past decade.

When cells in a part of the body become abnormal over time, malignant (cancerous) tumors can form. Early treatment can stop cancer from growing or spreading. Some symptoms to watch out for are:

-Weight gain or loss with no known reason

-Feeling weak or very tired

-A thickening or lump in the body

-A sore throat that does not heal
